Traffic Issues in Selsley
The flow of traffic has been causing issues in Selsley for decades. Compulsory purchase orders by the council allowed the demolition of several buildings to widen the road, most recently two cottages on the corner of Bell Lane in 1983. However problems persist.
The speed limit (30mph) is often exceeded ,which means that drivers have very little time to decide whether or not to give way to on coming traffic. The lack of priority signage means that each driver thinks they have the right of way (even though the Highway Code states that the vehicle heading up hill, actually has right of way in that situation.)
This results in accidents, with other vehicles, buildings garden walls and telegraph poles being hit. Vehicles mount and drive up the pavement regularly, and there are even a number who have been hit by the wing mirrors of passing vehicles.

Many of you have signed our petition to get 20 mph zones in place in the village. It's important that the parish council understand the feeling of the community and the concern with which traffic issues in Selsley are viewed.
